he very first, Vivel Filmfare Awards 2013-14, make their way into the east. Finally the iconic Black Lady, who has been acknowledging celluloid dreams and nurturing passionate talents, all across India, is making its debut in to the Eastern Cinema. It will celebrate the cinematic endeavors and excellence of Bengali, Assamese and Oriya films.

Present for the announcement of the blithe and cheery news, at the Press Conference at a city’s upscale hotel. were Mr.Tarun Rai, CEO, Worldwide Media; Mr. Sandeep Kaul, Chief Executive, Personal Care Products, ITC Ltd; and the graceful and multi-talented tinsel town’s Superstar, Prosenjit Chatterjee.

Feeling nostalgic about receiving Black Lady years ago, Prosenjit da enlightened all about the early days he and a few others got a chance to win the Filmfare, but over the years the format changed. And now when Bengali Cinema is ninety-five years old and there are about hundreds of Bengali Cinema releasing each year, Filmfare has turned towards the Eastern Cinema, felicitating the talent here and their efforts.

“We all know Filmfare, is the most respectable award any actor can ever get in this country. Indian Cinema is 100 years old and Filmfare is sixty, hence there is just a gap of modest 40 years. But Filmfare has been here since years and years. I am glad, they have not just come for Bangla Cinema, but also for the Assamese and the Oriya Cinema too, and the entire east. It feels really good on seeing their attention towards appreciating talent here in East”, quipped, the iconic Tolly star.

As Mr. Rai had put it, it took sixty years for Team Filmfare to enter the significant and cinema rich, Eastern belt. And now when they enter, they have entered with a bang, teaming up with ITC’s leading personal care Brand-Vivel. The Vivel Filmfare Awards 2013 East, will be held at Science City Auditorium, on 29th March, 2014.

After turning sixty nationally, the Black lady will turn one, this March, when the creative vision, young talents, renowned artists and exceptional glamour will be in vogue, awarding the Bengali, Oriya and Assamese Cinema.
