On the sets of Bodhon - an upcoming Bengali movie starring Arpita Chatterjee and Joy Sengupta
irector Ayanangshu Banerji was recently present at a Rajarhat apartment shooting for his debut feature film Bodhon. Tollywood Dhamaka was present alongside the cast and crew to catch up on some moves from the debut film maker.
Bodhon is an emotional story about relationships, a story of a woman’s journey reflecting upon idealism and progressive growth as a person. The story includes the festive Durga Puja in its timeline, which is when Archisman and Ishani face a major crisis situation in the form of a medical emergency of their child on the day of Mahalaya, which opens up into the larger picture of life through introspection.
Feauring Arpita Chatterjee, Joy Sengupta, Debshankar Halder, Soumitra Chatterjee, Mamata Shankar, Sayoni Ghosh, and others, Bodhon captures the internal action and fine emotions in the film through warm and intimate shooting.
The use of mixed eclectic music provides a good balance to the film.
Amidst shooting for a happy sequence in the film, the director revealed, “The idea behind the film was inspired from a newspaper article in 2004,” while he admitted that managing the tight schedule is the biggest challenge that he is facing as a director.
“Bodhon is a journey of a mother. It’s about exploring motherhood beyond its definition,” said a graceful Arpita Chatterjee, who plays Ishani, the soul of the film.
Joy Sengupta, who plays Archisman in Bodhon said, “I play an idealist corporate guy, who learnt from people who went beyond themselves for greater purpose in life. I don’t chase shallow success, and I’m a man of fine taste and aesthetics.”
Our little birdie caught Mamata Shankar, Joy Sengupta, Arpita Chatterjee and Sayoni Ghosh in action in the middle of a tight schedule at an apartment in Rajarhat, as the director expects the film to release around Durga Puja, this year.
Here's wishing them all the luck!
