Farhan and Vidya promote 'Shaadi Ke Side Effects' in Kolkata
he’s flirtatious, he’s charming. She’s hot, he’s super-cool! She is a vivaciously effervescent bubbly person while he is the calm and composed guy-next-door! Yes, Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan are diametrically opposite and that’s what makes them the coolest Jodi of the year! And arriving and touring in the city, that too on Bangali’s Valentine’s Day, an occasion that had them in splits!
While unconventional jodis are making their way to the industry more, off late, the Farhan-Vidya pair is crackling to say the least! On their whirlwind tour to the City of Joy, Vidya and Farhan as usual spread smiles all around.
From greeting the people with a “Kamon achhen sobai, bhalo toh?” to teaching Farhan the most nonsensical Bengali terms, Vidya charmed and wowed us with her disarming smile and candor. Farhan on the other side recalled Kolkata to be one of his most likeable cities ever since childhood.
Promoting their film, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, which therefore is a sequel to the hit rom-com Pyaar ke Side Effects, Farhan and Vidya had a lot to offer on the platter. Vidya, who has universally been applauded for her brilliant gesticulations and acting maneuvers; has taken upon this relationship comedy, breaking upon the women centric serious moulds to do something more romantic and comical.
“Well Ghanchakkar and Shaadi ke Side Effects are two different films. This is a relationship comedy which people can relate to. Every person in this world, every girlfriend must have said this to her boyfriend that ‘Main chahti hu kit um chaho ki tum na jaao’. So there is a certain amount of relatability with the character that works with this film”, said Vidya, giggling and smiling like her usual self.
And unlike his reserved and soft-spoken demeanour, Farhan got his funny side up coupling vidya’s answers with short but hugely interesting and witty one liners that gave a glimpse of the sizzling chemistry that we are about to catch with this film.
Produced by Balaji and Pritish Nandy, the film is slated for a February 28 release and ending the conference on a goodbye note, Vidya clearly requested all her Bengali fans to queue up the theatre in her own style. “Sobai kintu ashben movie ta dekhte first day first show te. Amar jonye ar Farhan er jonye, sobai nischoi dekhben movie-ta”, signed off our very own Bidya madam!
