Chirodini Tumi Je Amar 2 is all set to introduce a new on-screen couple in Arjun and Urmila
etter known for his popular Bengali mega serials, Soumik Chatterjee is back with his second film under the Shree Venkatesh Films banner with Chirodini Tumi Je Amar 2, after having collected a moderate response with Faande Poriya Boga Kaande Re.
Addressing the media at a press conference in a south Kolkata hotel, team Chirodini Tumi Je Amar 2 had a few nervous faces around. And leading from the front was director Soumik Chatterjee, who’s very anxious about the fortune of the film.
Featuring Arjun chakraborty, Urmila Mahanta, Riddhi Sen, Bihu Mukherjee, and Ena Saha, amidst others, Chirodini 2 is a pragmatic film of raw emotions that narrates the love story of a marginalized couple juxtaposed with the well placed people of the society.
The theme of the film is quite similar to Raj Chakraborty’s 2008 film by the same name, as it deals with class difference, oppression, and corruption without propagating any judgemental verdict. Alongside the cast and crew, the press conference was also highlighted by the presence of Ustaad Rashid Khan and Jeet Ganuly.
Urmila Mahanta, who’s a film school graduate from Assam, said “I’m making my debut with a very challenging and de-glamourized role amongst some brilliant co-actors. Naturally, I’m excited and very nervous at the same time.”
Music director Jeet Ganguly commenced the press conference with the music launch. Debutant teenager Binit Ranjan is the background scorer, while Suha Khan, the daughter of Ustaad Rashid Khan, is also making her debut as one of the playback singers in the film.
Talking about the film, the director said “The film is experimental and has a very independent look. We shot mostly with a Canon 5D and we didn’t try to unnecessarily glorify the scenes. The origin of the story is from the newspapers.”
“We had to go through a lot to shoot for the film. After going through such a challenging character, difficult circumstances and such cold winter nights of perseverance, I feel stronger and I’m ready to take on anything henceforth,” said Tollywoods young star Arjun Chakraborty.
With a big banner and a big name, the expectations are already piling up. Will a burning love story in Chirodini Tumi Je Amar 2 make history as well? Time has the answer in store as the film is scheduled to release on 11th April, 2014.
