At the sets of Teen Patti
ollywood Dhamaka arrived at the sets of Teen Patti, a new murder mystery thriller starring Indranil Sengupta, Ritwik Chakroborty, Puja, Koushik Roy, Ushoshi Chakroborty and Rimjhim Chakraborty in the lead amongst others. Produced by RDS entertainment this film is directed by not one, but two directors. Rehana Parvin and Dipayan Mandal are both debutante directors who have recently graduated from the reputed Rupkala Kendra. Being probably the youngest in the crew, the director duo find the responsibility of making a mainstream film to be draining as well as exciting. After shooting extensively in Mukutmonipur, the cast has finally come back to shoot in Kolkata. During the entire time of the shoot these two little people were seen shouting, screaming and commandeering back and forth and working with the stars.
“Everybody is pretty cooperative here. The producer and the cast know that we are not that experienced and so they are always helpful. At the same time we also get to preserve our independence in our work, so it’s pretty fun to be at the helm of this ship. So far it has been so good”, shared the young directors.
The film is in new hands and that is why its treatment is also said to be different. There are hardly a few dramatic scenes and the songs which are present are only to move the plot forward. The plot of Teen Patti revolves around the lives of Arya (Indranil), Mukul (Ritwik) and Mohor (Puja) and how their perfect lives turn topsy-turvy eventually leading to a murder. As hinted with the name of the film, nothing is as it seems and nothing actually is perfect. The film in the progression of the plot unveils the masks revealing the real characters, some to be villainous and some to be better people.
Puja, who had previously worked in ‘Challenge 2’ and the most recent ‘Oh Henry’ is quite excited to be seen opposite Indranil in this film. Ritwik too is all set to move audience with his extrovert role in this film after his earlier role in Shobdo. The film has a ‘who-dunnit’ method of plot progression and his character holds the key to it. Indranil talks about his experience on the sets of the film. “It has been fun working both Puja and Ritwik, who are really good at their work. I think Ritwik is one of the most brilliant young actors in the Tollywood film industry at this point of time.”
Mostly shot in the hot wild weather of Mukutmonipur, some actors saw it as a fun trip while a few others had bad experiences such as meeting with minor accidents; even another was when Koushik and Ritwik had fun catching a scorpion. The actors have appreciated the directors on their commendable job so far and expect the movie to turn out to be a good one.
Still having a long way to go with the shooting still going on, the film is expected to hit the screens around the DurgaPujas this year.
