A special evening, and a special screening for Take One
arlier in a small chat with our Little Birdie, Swastika Mukherjee had remarked - “Hopefully, I’ll be able to rise again with the release of Take One”; and echoing what she had said, the Friday release of Mainak Bhaumik’s TAKE ONE brought an end to all the arguments and negative criticism that surrounded it, since the release of the trailer.
Priya Cinema played host to a special screening of the film amidst the presence of critics and special guests.
Present at the occasion were leading lady Swastika Mukherjee along with her daughter Anwesha, co-producer and veteran actor Arindam Sil, cast members Vikramjit Chowdhury, Rahul Banerjee and Shreyashi Mukherjee, along with stylist Ajopa Mukherjee, choreographer Sudarshan Chakraborty, and the film-maker Mainak Bhaumik himself.
Amongst the guests, our Little Birdie spotted Swastika’s father Santu Mukhopadhyay, film directors Anik Dutta and Atanu Ghosh, music composer Debojyoti Mishra, elocutionist Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, singer Riddhi Bandopadhyay and suchlike.
“We’re not bothered about the controversies, because there’s a certain section of the mass that’ll always dwell on it. It takes a lot of guts for a film like this to happen and I’m here to share the happiness,” said Arindam Sil, who plays a director in the film.
“I think we have done a film that isn’t just another run off the mill. It was a very risky subject, and if people are not judging with a pre-conceived notion, that’s all that matters,” said Swastika, who plays the role of Doel Mitra, the protagonist of the film.
It was indeed a visually enriching journey through the scratchy wounds and the dark wrinkles of time, wonderfully complemented with an interesting mix of music. Essaying the ‘Rise of a Fallen Woman’, the film collected a worthy applause from the houseful audience.
It was also the birthday of the film's producer - Mr. Firdausal Hasan from Friends Communication Pvt. Ltd. and he was all smiles when the audiences gave him the best gift of appreciation and applause for the film he backed from it's inception.
Here's wishing the film all the success!
