A rendezvous with the team of Take One at Arts Acre
t’s like a panel of judges throwing different questions at you to extract reactions and the attitude slowly begins to change with the concealed emotions coming out… This is in a nutshell what Mainak Bhaumik’s TAKE ONE does to you if you’re interested beyond the ‘nudity’, to explore the different layers in the film.
With the film creating ripples at different levels, team TAKE ONE is trying their bit to share the vision and spread the message rather than scratching upon the ‘sensational’ bit.
In another such effort to illustrate the subversive allegory, producer Firdausul Hasan & Friends’ Communication led the team to Arts Acre, with an honest support from veteran artist Suvaprasanna to address the media and guests at the rendezvous.
The evening’s program at the New Town venue comprised of a unique dream-like dance performance by Sapphire Creations (who also featured in the film), along with a special screening of TAKE ONE at the Sarala-Basant Birla Auditorium.
The rendition saw Sudharshan Chakravorty’s team take the center stage with the film’s music director Mayookh Bhaumik on tabla, Ishita Chakravarty and Kinjal Chattopadhyay on vocals, Kaustav Dey on guitar, and Alla Rakha Kalawant on sarangi.
Our Little Birdie spotted Suvaprasanna and composer Debojyoti Mishra alongside front-man Mainak Bhaumik, Arindam Sil, Swastika Mukherjee, Sreyashi Mukherjee and others to extend their support and solidarity towards the film and its subject.
“Today’s youngsters are quite sensible and level headed. They do not carry any baggage,” thinks Mainak, who feels that the attitude toward the film has shown maturity since its release.
“We’ll not be able to push society ahead without such contemporary films on such strong subjects. If we are being able to do such films, it is because people like Firdausul Hasan trust us and support us whole-heartedly,” said Arindam Sil, extracting a worthy applause from the audience.
Tollywood Dhamaka extends heartiest wishes to TAKE ONE and many such ventures to come.
